Mamatography 2014, Week Four...a day late and a dollar short ;)

This post is part of the Mamatography 2014 Project with Diary of a First Child and Momma Jorje . We are taking (at least) a photo a day, a collage or a picture each week to keep a record of our year. (Also sign up to be added to a comment group!) Yeah, it's been a rough week. My mom is sure she's very sick and keeps needing us to call an ambulance for her. Both times in the last ten days they didn't admit her though, which only makes things worse at home because it makes her more attention seeking and drug seeking. But moving on...I'm a day late and I apologize, but I'm here! So let's get this show on the road. A lot of the pictures this week are these. For what it worth, I love comments, and it rocked that I got so much encouragement in this direction, because this is my everyday life ...

(Also sign up to be added to a comment group!) It's that time of week again folks! Yep, you guessed it, my week in pictures. I went ahead and left out any doctor visit pics because, well, I didn't take any when I was there and decided instead to use a pic from at home that day! So let's get this party started :) Tattoo twins! last year I was lucky enough to be chosen to host a House Party for Adventuretime with Fiona and Cake and one of the party favors was temporary tattoos.  They've been sitting in a box this whole time (the extras anyway) and Maxwell and Memphis decided it was time to put some...

Mamatography 2014, Week two...

Image
Ok, I lied, the posts are going to come every Sunday.  I really did mean to do it yesterday, but Maxwell had his little birthday party yesterday and I just plain don't feel well.  You can read my middle of the night post  for an explanation on that! So here goes, my week in pictures :) Memphis accidentally bit me so I had a bleeding cut on my nipple. I absolutely HATE to pump, but if was kind of forced into it, because it just hurt too damn much to have him nurse from that side for the first day or two. He decided that he needed to pump himself as well, so not only did I catch a little video of it that I might upload to YouTube, I got a few pics too! This is my oldest son Morgen, we were having our morning coffee, and he's texting his fiancé Angie.  Incidentally, Morgen means morning in German and that's how he got his name. He was going to be Camilla, but he had a penis and I needed a boy name in a hurry and since he was born in the morning, wel...

Mastitis and the Treatment or LACK of That One gets in Never Never Land...

Image
When I was pregnant with Phiz, my case manager at Care1st called the area I live Never Never land, because if you need good medical care you're never never going to get it.  Oh my good golly is that ever the fucking case when it comes to good old Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center's Emergency Department. Over the last week I dealt with a nasty clogged duct in my left boob.  THE boob, the one with the pacemaker up top, so it's painful when that boob even gets full, let alone a clogged duct, but they happen. Of course when it happens it's that boob and the duct right under the pacemaker. Since the pacemaker is generally sore ANYWAY, and something I never mention because frankly, if I mentioned every time something hurt on me I'd never say anything else.  So the clogged duct had a weird milk blister thing that I was able to get easily with a sterilized tweezers and the milk started flowing just fine and all was well that day. The next day, the duct was clogged a...

You bet your ass I'm mom enough...

Image
The Time cover is all over the net lately.  I was really inspired by the whole thing.  WTF though with the "are you mom enough" shit?  I've had 4 kids, 3 of which I was able to breastfeed and the one I couldn't I pumped for 4 months until I went back to work and my boobs couldn't keep up.  My oldest, I had zero support, and when I was constantly being told I was starving her to death, I caved and switched to formula.  But that was after 5 months of nothing but boobs.  So anyway, at some point today I WILL be taking a picture like that cover, and I will be posting it for all to see. ***Edit to add this pic, this is the closest thing I've gotten so far and it's really not very close, but funny none the less*** I really enjoy the fact that I can nurse my babies.  When my oldest son was born, we'd had no idea he would have a cleft lip/palate.  It was such a shock and it spiraled me into a depression that I was not able to hold him and nurse him....
